A competing project to Anthemism is Joseph Avatar’s Society of Reason (SoReason). Joseph was the one who inspired me to pursue the new-country idea by posting on this at HBL (although I had this idea too for years, but did not act on it). I just found out that his private Facebook group has 6,000 members. Impressive

It seems to be active, there are 13 posts just last month, there are people who Joseph delegated work to, and I think he is actually paying them money for part time work. This is
encouraging because it shows that there are many interested people, in theory, in starting a new country.

In 2022, on HBL (post 42722), Joseph writes publicly at me: “Aren’t you taking credit for an idea I’ve been working on for years?”. Then later, he adds:
Mr. Reitman sent me an email, explaining that he has been thinking about the idea of a new country for many years as well. He says he is not referencing my work, and that’s why he does not need to credit me.

Back at that time I was thinking about a name for a new country, because I didn’t have the “Anthemism” concept yet, and I wanted some “handle” to refer to what I’m takling about. Here are the two variants I came up with: Pax and Anconia.
Pax means peace is Latin, and it would be good for a country in a conflict-torn region. Pax would probably have to be spelled as Paks or Pacs to make it sound the same in many languages.
Anconian refers to a character in Atlas Shrugged, Francisco d’Anconia. Anconia has the linguistic form of a country name, and a citizen would be an “anconian.” Anconia works well as an adjective. E.g “The Anconian industry leads the world in innovation.”

Here’s what I wrote to Joseph Avatar in a letter, in 2022.
I see how the name “Society of Reason” can work for a cruise ship. I plan to include the draft country name in letters that I would write, and I do not want to innovate more than the minimum necessary. Things should remain in familiar form where possible, so long that they do not sacrifice capitalism.
By the way, Herzl used a different name for the interim settlement of the state compared to the final form of it. The final state was the Judenstaat (the Jewish State), but the interim was the “Society of Jews.” The society was to manage the process of selling real estate in Europe, buying real estate in Palestine, assigning workers to work sites in Palestine, nationalizing wealth, etc.
