“‘Anarcho-capitalism’ is an invalid concept. There is no more anarcho-capitalism than there is “state capitalism,” or “crony capitalism.” Anarchism is a form of collectivism.’ – Harry Binswanger, HBL #197393participant-3927, 5:42 AM, August 1
Yesterday there was here a 10th year anniversary celebration for Ethereum. There were a 1000 people there, in relatively small space of a single floor, packed liked sardines. (The building has 12 floors, but we all started on the 2nd floor).participant-3927, 5:42 AM, August 1

He runs the longetivity floor and the Viva City project. I told him, I want to create a new country. He said that he wants that too, but he approaches it via creating a city first.participant-3927, 5:43 AM, August 1
It was loud, and busy, and I didn’t get a chance to do a proper sit-down and have a conversation.participant-3927, 6:13 AM, August 1
Conventional “wisdom” is that either one is moral or he is practical. But can’t be both. Somehow being practical requires cheating. Objectivism, however, claims that it’s a false dichotomy and whatever moral is also practical, and vice versa.
So, I was thinking about the fact that people in India, Vietnam, etc. work for less, they work long hours, and people here have a lot of leisure time, benefiting from the fact that someone else is doing the work (via outsourcing). I am going to show you that this is the case of the moral is the practical. It’s the case that third world countries are undeveloped. Why? Because they are highly collectivist, altruist society that despise greed and the profit motive. It’s about the “community” there. That’s why they have an oppressive political system, that’s why they didn’t develop as fast as the Western world. You see now? It’s practical to work less, because the political system here in the West is more moral.

I’m really curious to see how this plays out. If the well-known anti-IP Jack, who released his app under the Unlicense, will actually manage to get the clones taken down — even though the Indian companies distributing them have every right to do so under the license…participant-2294, 3:27 PM, August 1
